One of the best things about anime is that you can find an anime about literally anything you can think of including cooking, gambling, fishing, boating and sports stories are actually one of the most popular themes you will probably see. Anime for years has been used to represent various sports such as Volleyball in “Haikyuu”, basketball in “Slam Dunk and water polo in “Re-Main“. And now there is a new upcoming series that the fans of sports genre definitely will love called “Aoashi”, a soccer-themed anime based on the manga by Yugo Kobayashi.

What is the release date of Aoashi?

Aoashi anime is set to premiere on April 9, 2022, at 6:30 PM JST on NHK educational TV channel in Japan. The Episode 1 titled “First Touch” will release on the same date while the second episode titled “Tokyo City Esperion” will air a week later on April 16, 2022. The Episode 3 and 4 are titled “The Final Test Begins” and “Crow” will debut a week apart.

What is Aoashi about?

The story follows Aoi Ashito a third-year middle school student from Ehime. Behind his raw game hides his immense talent but Ashito suffers a huge setback because of his overly straightforward personality. The youth team manager of J1 club Tokyo City Esperion, Fukuda Tetsuya, appears in front of Ashito. Fukuda sees Ashito’s limitless potential and invites him to take part in his team’s tryouts in Tokyo. The story of the boy who will revolutionize football in Japan rapidly begins to unfold.

Where to watch Aoashi Season 1 online? Is it available on Crunchyroll, Funimation or Netflix?

Aoashi is currently airing on NHK educational TV channel for viewers in Japan. It is also available online on Amazon Prime, Hulu, Netflix, Gyao, Docomo and Disney+ exclusively in Japan.

As for the audience outside Japan, the show is available on Crunchyroll with English subtitles in the US, Canada, Mexico and most of Europe.

The episodes will first air on Japanese local TV networks and then will arrive on the above-mentioned streaming platforms within 1-3 hours. Here is when the same episode will release in your region:

It has been confirmed on Twitter that Aoashi anime will run for 24 episodes starting from April 9, 2022, to October 17, 2022. A new episode will be released every Saturday at 6:30 PM JST.

Aoashi English Dub Release and Updates

Crunchyroll already has announced that they have started working on Aoashi’s dub. The cast will be announced very soon on thier official Twitter account and the dubbed episodes will be available from this May. They also have confirmed that they are working on Brazilian and Portuguese dubs. We will update the article once more information will be available.

Is the anime coming to Netflix?

Aoashi is only available on Netflix Japan as of this writing. Unfortunately, no word yet on whether the anime will be available on Netflix outside of Japan.
