Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi wo Suru aka My Dress-up Darling is currently one of the most beloved romantic-comedy manga on multiple manga reading sites. Fans for years have been waiting for its anime adaptation and their prayers were finally answered when the anime adaptation was officially announced in April 2021.
It is a cosplay love-comedy written and drawn by Fukuda Shinichi, which follows high school students Wakana Gojou, who loves making traditional Hina Dolls and Marin Kitagawa, the prettiest girl in the school.
Studio Cloverworks is animating the series who are known for their work on popular series such as The Promised Neverland, Shadows House and Wonder Egg Priority. Keisuke Shinohara is serving as the chief director, with Yoriko Tomita handling the series’ scripts. Kazumasa Ishida is drawing the characters designs and is also serving as chief animation director. Meanwhile, Takeshi Nakatsuka is composing the music for the show.
Episode 1 My Dress-Up Darling is scheduled to release on January 9, 2022, at 12:00 AM JST and is confirmed to run for 12 episodes with a new one releasing every Sunday.

Plot Of The Anime:
Wakana Gojo is a first-year high-school student who dreams of becoming a Hina doll craftsman. One day during his first semester, his popular classmate Marin Kitagawa sees him making doll costumes in the school’s clothing room. Marin, who has wanted to cosplay for a while and has observed Wakana’s skill in sewing, asks him to create the costume of a character from a video game that she adores. Despite the fact that Wakana had no experience making a costume on a human scale, he was inspired by Marin’s tenacity and agreed to make one for her.

My Dress-Up Darling Season 2 Release Date
The season 2 hasn’t been announced yet but looking at financially successful anime it won’t take much time before they will announce the next season. During the anime run almost 2 million copies of the manga were sold reaching 5.5 million copies in circulation and 10k Blu-ray/ DVD units in the first week of the sale.
The season 2 most likely will premiere in Summer or Fall 2023 with the initial announcement happening around Winter 2023.
Where does the My Dress-up Darling anime leave off? Which manga chapter to start from?
Those who are interesting in following the manga from where the anime, then they can start with chapter 40. There are currently 73 chapters published and new chapters are released on monthly basis. The anime has very faithfully adapted 39 chapters in 12 episodes and have skipped very little material so you can confidently start the manga without any risk of missing out on anything.

It has been confirmed that “My Dress-Up Darling” anime will run for 12 episodes based on the Blu-ray information from the official site. The show will air from January 9, 2022, to March 27, 2022, and a new episode will be released every week on Sunday at 12:00 AM JST.
My Dress-Up Darling English dub Release
As for the English dub, it will be added eventually since both Crunchyroll and Funimation has a good track record of dubbing each of their original anime. However, it might even take weeks or months. Our best guess is that the My Dress-Up Darling English dub will release in February 2022.

Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi wo Suru (My Dress-up Darling) is a Japanese manga written and illustrated by Shinichi Fukuda. It is published in Square Enix’s Young Gangan magazine and its individual chapters have been collected into 7 complied volumes. An anime adaptation by Cloverworks was announced in April 2021.
The story follows Wakana Gojou a fifteen-year-old high-school boy who was socially traumatized in the past due to his passions. That incident left a mark on him that made him into a social recluse. Until one day he had an encounter with Kitagawa who is a sociable gyaru, who is the complete opposite of him. They soon share their passions with one another which leads to their odd relationship.
