There is some good and bad news for That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime fans. As of October 2022, there is no announcement of a third season. But the series is getting a movie!
After the Season 2 finale, it was revealed that the finale is being followed up with a theatrical film entitled That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime the Movie: Scarlet Bond.
The film is premiering in Japan on November 25, 2022. Crunchyroll has confirmed that they will release the film for viewers outside Japan in early 2023.

The first theatrical release for the series, the movie follows Rimuru and co. as they encounter a survivor of the ogre race and a feud between brothers.
That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime Story
That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime (known as Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken in Japanese) is an isekai fantasy series by Fuse with illustrations from Mitz Vah.
The series follows a 37-year-old office worker, Satoru Mikami, who leads a pretty happy life. Unfortunately for him, his life is about to change after one day at work.
Satoru is stabbed after meeting with a colleague, and in his death, he hears a strange voice with magical commands that he repeats after.
Instead of dying, he wakes up in a new world. But – rather than the human body he once knew, he now has the body of a slime creature!
Along with his new slimy body, he possesses new abilities, including the power to take on any form that he eats!
His first encounter in the new world is a dangerous dragon known as “Storm Dragon” Veldora.
Veldora is locked away for hundreds of years after committing a crime, but Satoru decides to help the dragon out.
Veldora, thankful for the assistance, gives Satoru the new name, “Rimuru Tempest,” which grants him protection from the divine elements.
Now known as Rimuru, he takes on the world with new goals and a new body: as a slime!
That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime was originally published online as a web novel series from 2013 to 2016. After its immense popularity, the series was republished as light novels and is still ongoing, with over 20 volumes in publication.
The series was then turned into a successful manga and anime series. The manga has over 21 volumes currently published, with five additional spin-offs!
The anime adaptation, produced by Eight Bit, first aired in 2019 and ran for 24 episodes. Season 2 of the series aired in 2021, with various OAD episodes created between the seasons.
A spin-off anime, Slime Diaries: That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime, also aired in 2021.
That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime has won many awards, including “Best Fantasy” at the 2022 Crunchyroll Anime Awards and the 2018 BookWalker award.
The light novels are published by Yen Press in North America. The manga is published by Kodansha, while the anime is available for streaming on Crunchyroll.
